Nebraska is shooting for a return to elite status. Southern California hopes to stay there. One faces a setback Saturday night.

The 19th-ranked Cornhuskers face No. 4 USC at the Coliseum, where the Trojans have won a school-record 27 straight games. It will be just the third game between two of college football's most decorated programs and the first since 1970.

"This is a big, exciting time for us coming home," Trojans coach Pete Carroll said. "There is a great buildup and it's a great event for us, particularly since we have such an extraordinary opponent. I know this is a great opportunity for them and I know they will be revved up and ready to go."

A capacity crowd of over 90,000 is expected for USC's home opener, and it figures to include a significant percentage of red-clad Nebraska fans.

Yahoo! Story

Come on USC, let's stomp a mud hole in the Huskers and show these mid-west freaks that the Pac-10 is where it's at!

Yeah!! USC gave the Huskers the ass beating I desired! 28-10! Go Trojans, and don't let Bush's shitty actions drag you down!

Turns out No. 3 Southern California was vulnerable.

Oregon State capitalized on four turnovers to upset the Trojans 33-31 on Saturday, snapping USC's 27-game Pac-10 winning streak and breaking the national championship race wide open.

USC (6-1, 4-1) had also won 18 straight road games. But the mighty Trojans had shown cracks in their last three games, each a victory by seven points or less.

Against the Beavers, they couldn't escape and came up one play short.

John David Booty's 2-yard scoring pass to Steve Smith with 7 seconds left made the score 33-31. But Oregon State's Jeff Van Orsow batted down a pass on the 2-point conversion to preserve the lead.

Woo Hoo motherfuckers..............I'm back....... I'ts been a long time. I have been through buying a house, having a kid (now one year old) and going through a big job change. I have not had internet at home and at work I simply don't have time and when I am near a computer I am doing other things that are time sensative. I miss this place (SC4LIFE.COM) and I am glad to be posting. How the hell is everybody? We need to get together for the CW again like last year. This year OSU will dish a serious beating to the Ducks. 35-14 mark my words. where are we gonna go. I'll try to get back on the SC soon. My new # is 360-431-7532 I still have my old number also 541-760-7545 but I don't use it ever. See you later. Im also on Myspace if you wanna give a look. L8

Jake!! Good to hear from you again! I've been almost too busy to do much on this site also lately. I need to get more involved again. Glad to hear you have predicted my Beavs to take the civil war also! Smile

I have no idea what my crazy schedule is like that weekend. Jesus Christ, when is the Civil War? Not this weekend I hope?

Jake, you are incorrect as the the Civil War. It will be 45-14, not 35-14. UO is one of the worst teams in the nation right now, let alone the PAC-10, and it all boils down to Bellotti's decision to continue to play Dennis Dixon, who sucks as bad as OSU's Ryan Gunderson. Yet Bellotti will start him this week because he doesn't want to hurt his "confidence". I, personally, would rather win than save the feelings of one player, but that's just me. I dread this Friday.... Crying or Very sad

USC's run to the BCS championship game just hit a major roadblock.

The No. 1 ranked Trojans were stunned by unranked Oregon State, 27-21, on Thursday.

USC (2-1) was coming off a resounding 35-3 win against then No. 2 Ohio State on Sept. 13, but looked rusty on both sides of the ball against the Beavers (2-2).

Way to stomp a muddin in USC Beavs!!! Impressive win, and it definitely shakes up the Pac-10 and BCS rankings!!

Justin Kahut kicked a 44-yard field goal late in the first half and No. 24 Oregon State beat No. 18 Pittsburgh 3-0 Wednesday in a defensive struggle at the Sun Bowl.

The game included 20 punts and nine sacks. Pitt kicker Connor Lee tried a 58-yard field goal in the closing minutes but the ball, helped by a steady wind, dropped just short of the crossbar.

Sounds like a damn boring game, but I'll take an OSU win!!

It may not have been as swift as some would have liked, but the punishment for LeGarrette Blount was certainly about as harsh as you can get.

Head coach Chip Kelly announced after practice this afternoon that Blount had been suspended for the remainder of the 2009 season for his sucker punch of Boise State's Byron Hout and subsequent meltdown on teammates, coaches, fans and stadium security.

Ouch, that hurts!! But what a dumb move to begin with! Sucker punching a defensive end, and then being drug from the field via police and crowd security. What a stupid damn move being the first game of your senior year! Kiss the season goodbye, and any chances of NFL right along with it. UO might be off to a rough season.
